august 15 - Daily Message - romans 8:22

I believe this is a message from God, written from His perspective - Sherri

Romans 8:22 ESV “For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now.”

Many reading or hearing this will agree wholeheartedly that it feels like the whole creation is groaning right now. Many, many people call out to Me “When Lord, how soon is soon, Lord” every single day. I hear your cries like a woman in late-stage childbirth when one contraction barely ends before the next begins.

May we reframe the question though?

What is being birthed? Labor is forgotten the moment the baby is seen, held, heard, and smelled. So, the question really is “what is being birthed and what can I personally do to bring this new life into being.”

Matthew 9:36-37 ESV “When [Jesus] saw the crowds He had compassion for them because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few…”

Are you willing to be a laborer?

How, you might ask?

1 Peter 5:2 ESV “…shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you, not for shameful gain, but eagerly, not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock.”

I have entrusted a flock to you. For some it is 1, for others it is 10,000 or even more. Shepherd them through prayer and love. Say no to something less important and spend that time praying for each of your flock.

James 5:16 ESV “The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.”

Prayer:
Dear Lord, thank You for entrusting a portion of the body of Christ, which is being born even now, as we witness such strong birthing pains. Please help me carve out time to pray and shepherd these people. Give me the prayers and words to say so they will also experience Your love as I have experienced it. Thank You Lord. I praise You and bless You. Amen.
