august 29 - daily message - Galatians 2:20, John 2:17, 1 John 2:29

I believe this is a message to us from God, written from His perspective – Sherri ​

​Galatians 2:20 ESV “Now an intermediary implies more than one, but God Is one.”
 
John 2:17 “And this world is fading away, along with everything people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.”
 
1 John 2:29 “Since we know that Christ is righteous, we also know that all who do what is right are God’s children.”
 
I am One. We are one. This is not some new idea of you being god which centers and focuses on you. When the focus is on you, you can assume something is amiss because it is simply too much pressure on you to be the focus and then things get really heavy and burdensome…too much for you to carry. But when the focus is on Me, your burden is light.
 
It is not degrading to point out and ask you to remember that you are dust and will return to dust. You are compared to sheep regularly in the Bible. This is not diminishing or derogatory at all, it is truth. You are glorified by Me being glorified because I am all glory and I shine it onto you.
 
I am all righteousness and I share My righteousness with you.
 
I am all love and I overflow love onto you.
 
If you focus on the glory, righteousness, or love You turn your eyes from Me and all these begin to fade, but when you turn toward Me and seek My face (Psalm 27:8) you become one with Me, with your Father, your true ancestor, and righteousness, glory and love strengthen and flow.
 
So many focus on the “do what is right” in the verse above (1 Jn 2:29) and believe that doing what is right is what leads them to being My children, but this is works based and puts the focus on this world which is fading away. It is from satan because he wants you focusing on what is fading and dying rather than on what brings eternal life. The focus is on Me, creator, God almighty, dedicated, loving, caretaker, giver of life – and when you put your focus where it belongs you connect to the source of life, the one who has everything you want and who gives freely.
 
1 Jn 2:29 could be reversed to say…you are My children if you receive Jesus Christ for who He is, the One who reconnects you to your lineage, to Me and when you are My child, not from your own strength but through His incredibly generous gift of His body and blood, you will be able to do what is righteous and you will receive all else that is good through Me.
 
Come to Me (Matthew 11:28) fix your eyes on Me (Hebrews 12:2) and let My life flow through you – and you will be holy and pleasing to Me (Romans 12:2)
 
Prayer:
Lord, please help me put You first. I receive the gift of Jesus fully. May you make us one as You are one with Him. Amen.
