November 14 - Daily Message - Ecclesiastes 2:17

I believe this is a message to us from God, written from His perspective – Sherri 

Ecclesiastes 2:17 NLT “So I came to hate life because everything done here under the sun is so troubling. Everything is meaningless—like chasing the wind.”
 
Please don’t be discouraged by this verse. If you understand how it fits into everything it makes more sense.
 
The whole of what is learned by Ecclesiastes is this…
 
This world is temporary. Eternal life is forever, so live now and enjoy yourself but don’t expect it to satisfy that incredible desire for heaven, perfection, and all eternity that lives within you. It never will.
 
This is why I gave you this commandment…
 
Exodus 20:4 NLT “You must not make for yourself an idol of any kind or an image of anything in the heavens or on the earth or in the sea.”
 
I know, fully, that nothing on his earth will ever satisfy that deep need you feel each day, pulling you toward peace, satisfaction and fulfillment. This can only come from Me and the perfection of living with Me in the Garden, which will be restored at the proper time.
 
It is good for you to hate anything that lies to you telling you it will satisfy you including:

• Work
• A spouse
• A family
• Possessions
• Success
• Financial freedom
• Beauty
• Weight

 
Yes, I want you to enjoy all of these things.
 
Ecclesiastes 5:18-20 NLT says “Even so, I have noticed one thing, at least, that is good. It is good for people to eat, drink, and enjoy their work under the sun during the short life God has given them, and to accept their lot in life.  And it is a good thing to receive wealth from God and the good health to enjoy it. To enjoy your work and accept your lot in life—this is indeed a gift from God. God keeps such people so busy enjoying life that they take no time to brood over the past.”
All these things are good, and you are welcome to seek them out, but they will not satisfy you! Only I will satisfy you and you will only be fully and truly satisfied when all is restores…but you will experience some of it here on earth and so enjoy that and don’t be distracted by the deceitfulness of wealth (mark 4:19). Instead, know that I am fully satisfying and give you all you need (Matthew 6:33) and do as the teacher shares with you as his final conclusion:
 
Ecclesiastes 12:13 NLT “Fear God and obey His commands for this is everyone’s duty.”
 
I don’t tell you this because I need to be feared and obeyed but because I know that when you do this you will find your greatest satisfaction and experience ethe fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23)
