November 22 - Daily Message - Genesis 9:18

I believe this is a message to us from God, written from His perspective – Sherri 

Genesis 9:18 NLT “The sons of Noah who came out of the boat with their father were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. (Ham is the father of Canaan.)
 
The choices of the father impact the children. Yes, I say I will not punish the sons for their father’s choices but it cannot be denied that when fathers make bad choices their children often suffer. I say this for 2 reasons:
 
1.For you to be cognizant that your choices impact more than you so that you can take this into consideration as you make decisions.
2.When you are impacted by the bad choices of your ancestors you can recognize the source and come to Me to change the outcome.
 
Don’t be concerned about the sins of your ancestors…I did, and I do the impossible.
 
There is nothing that cannot be turned around of “fixed” in your life. Nothing at all! Recognizing the root helps show where forgiveness is necessary and helps set you free from the behavior and any judgement or assumptions around it.
 
But the most important thing to remember is that I am your true father. You can connect to Me as your Father and then the only choices that impact you are ones I make.
 
How?
 
Let’s believe for a moment that what is in the Bible is actually true and all humankind can be traced back to the Garden and Adam and Eve. Even if you believe the bible is an allegory you can imagine this to be true theoretically. I am not saying you are right, but I don’t want you to miss out on the powerful realization I am providing now.
 
Regardless of what you believe, imagine that I am the Father of Adam because I created him and so you can, actually or theoretically, trace your ancestry directly to Me. If you cut out all the middle ancestors, you will recognize that you are directly My child. I know this is a stretch but when you consider the number of people who talk about how they inherited something negative from their parents, or in their family line, I want you to recognize that all your ancestors sins have been taken care of by Jesus and, in effect, erased from your heritage so all of those traits simply disappear as you connect directly to Me as your Father.
 
Sure, it requires some energy and effort to disconnect from father and mother and connect fully with Me but it is very possible, and I highly encourage thinking about genetics and ancestors differently…
 
This doesn’t change My desire for you to honor your father and mother as I state in the 10 commandments, but it does change how you discuss genetic problems or behaviors due to your physical parents.
 
Think of Me as your adopted Father (Romans 8:15) and connect to Me in every way as you learn about your past, your genes and your biological parents. Then begin to experience more and more of My attributes and My health than you do of your parents.
 
Give it a try and discover what happens!
