September 3 - Daily Message - Romans 8:15

I believe this is a message to us from God, written from His perspective – Sherri ​

Romans 8:15 NLT “So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when He adopted you as His own children. Now we call Him, ‘Abba, Father.”

Think about what this truly means….you are adopted by Me the moment you ask Jesus into your life. You become His brother and My child. All the difficulties you had by being raised by imperfect, human, parents are negated and the sting of them is erased because they were no longer done by the people who should have loved you the most…you have become a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17) and you have now been raised by a perfect, heavenly Father and mother (Psalm 27:10). You have My looks, My genes, My health, and My potential within you.  I am more real in your upbringing than you ever imagined.

Take that in for a moment…..

All the events that happened to you that formed you are now overshadowed and redeemed by Me, meaning, they can be released and replaced with memories that are filled with love and support and everything you needed. This is a huge reason to rejoice! Your best memories are enhanced, and your worst memories are redeemed. What a beautiful gift.

But take it a step further….consider the advantages of being the son or daughter of the most powerful, wealthy, well connected Father ever to have exist. Really take that in for a moment. You have every advantage you could possibly have in this world – not because of what you have done or not done, but because you are My child and I am your Father.

Now, as you take that in ….consider your life. Are you taking advantage of your heritage by coming confidently before the throne to ask for what you need or desire (Hebrews 4:16)? Are you remaining in My protection where you are safer than anywhere else (Psalm 91)? Are you following the instructions from your Shepherd (Psalm 23)? Or are you rebelling against your Father like the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-32)?

That is your part…now look at My perspective. I want to rais powerful, loving, generous children who will bring the fullness of My Kingdom to this world and I am very diligent to train up My children for this role (Proverbs 22:6). I discipline My children (Proverbs 3:11) and I bless them (2 Chronicles 16:9). As you interact with Me, asking Me for things, living your life, know that I am a perfect Father. I don’t make mistakes, and I am not distant. Yes, sin impacts your life – your sin and other people’s sin – but I always help you handle it with love and support with a goal of being in a deep, loving relationship with you and I always bring good from every situation (Romans 8:28). This does not mean that every situation is good, but it means I will bring good from every situation. As I teach you how to love Me, love yourself, love your neighbors, and love your enemies (Mark 12:30-31, Matthew 5:44) I want you to bring this to the world because the more people who live this way, the more heaven is experienced on earth.

As you look at what is happening in your life, draw near to Me as your good Father, desiring to teach you and raise you into the very person that I am. I know this sounds crazy but I want you to be like Jesus (John 14:12) and I want you to do what you see Me doing and say what you hear Me say (John 5:19, John 12:49) so that you may be perfect (complete, mature, full-grown) as I am perfect (Matthew 5:48).
Do not concern yourself with hardship, wondering what you’ve done wrong. If you’ve done wrong…own it, ask forgiveness, handle the consequences and let’s move on. If it has been caused by another, through the power of the My Spirit, not the human spirit, pray for this person, ask Jesus to heal and remedy it and leave it to Him, then bless them (because as they are blessed, you actually benefit) and with My help, love them (Matthew 5:44). I know it feels impossible, but this is the path to freedom from being a slave (today’s verse) and I do the impossible (Matthew 19:26).

Do not try to love from your own love. Receive Mine to overflowing and then share it with others.

You are My beloved child!

Stop seeing this as a disadvantage in this world and start seeing it as the greatest blessing possible here on earth. You have advantages that non-believers only dream of. As soon as they are open to it, share Me with them so they can be advantaged too but in the meantime, enjoy your advantages and live a life fully in connection with Me, your heavenly Father!
